My experience is very similar to that of 'Merlin'. This morning, my GP applied 'Elastoplast / Kinesiology Tape / Beige / 50mm x 5m / Latex Free' to assist with pain from x2 rib fractures - this pain has been excruciating for two weeks. The relief was immediate and remained so for the next ten hours. In fact, I have felt no pain whatsoever. The relief was amazing. However, after ten hours, I could feel my skin burning where the tape was applied. I removed the tape and discovered a very 'violent' rash and blisters. The removal of the tape ripped the top of the blisters and now they are oozing and very painful. I'm very disappointed, as the tape was amazing with the rib fracture pain. However, I cannot continue use. I now hope I can find another tape to assist with the rib pain.

Be aware of reactions

I used this tape on strained intercostal muscles to which it gave some relief. However, some 12-15 hours after application the area felt itchy and painful so I removed the tape (had to get into a warm shower to soften the adhesive) and found a nasty rash and, in some areas actual blisters, that the removal of the ripped off the top layers of skin. I do have an adverse reaction to latex but, as the box said it was latex free I thought it would be safe - unfortunately, not so. The skin was not damaged or broken and there were no rashes prior to use.
